Priceline had another crazy 40% off sale this week, this time on skincare. I was good, and only got a few things, stuff that I need. I was pretty good during these sales, I paid roughly $35 for all this and a TRESemmé conditioner. That was on grace of a $21 Priceline voucher I received a couple days before though too. Yay for savvy shopping and coupon queens!!!! Just keep in mind that I have oily and acne prone skin, I have started breaking out as much as I do in the past year or so, I am learning how to deal with my skin, and what works for me may not work for you. (There’s a whole bunch of stuff in my disclaimer about this if you want to read that)
Here’s a look at all dem goodies…
Seeee!! Told you that I was good. I only got stuff I needed, or backups of stuff I already have.
Johnson’s Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes (for normal skin)
They came in a pack of 3. I bought a 3 pack of Nivea face wipes a couple of weeks ago, but I thought that since I go through wipes like crazy, why not get more backups? I won’t need to buy wipes any time soon now too which is good. They are the first thing I use to I take off my makeup, so I kind of need to have them on hand. I’m not so much digging the textured wipes of Nivea but they do work nicely.
Garnier Clean Sensitive 2 in 1 Gentle Make-up Remover
I have used this before and I did like it, but I didn’t love it. I decided to give it another go so I can decided why I do or don’t like it. But also because I know it is a GOOD makeup remover, it does wonders for removing all the makeup. It’s one of those oil cleansers that you have to shake up. I wouldn’t use this for cleaning up the makeup and mistakes around your eyes or anything like that, I think the oil will break the makeup down too much. Try BioDerma or something similar for that.
Garnier PureActive Daily Pore Reducing Toner
I wish I had picked up the PIMPLE reducing version of this instead of the PORE reducing one. But none the less, I have used it a couple of times and I think its okay. It’s meant to mattify the skin and tighten pores. It has Salicylic Acid and Zinc in it. Salicylic Acid is used in treating acne among many other things, and Zinc is great for overall skin health. I’ll keep using it and get back to you with what I think about it.
Avene Micellar Lotion
This another cleansing water, same idea as BioDerma. This is a repurchase and I use this to cleanse my face when I don’t have a lot of time to to a complete face cleanse in the morning or whenever. I also use this after my face wipes and before I wash my face if I have been wearing really heavy makeup. I’m pedantic about trying to get off every ounce of makeup on my face… It’s a thing.
pHisohex Anti-bacterial Wash
This is another repurchase, I’ve been using it since May of this year and I definitely think it has helped with reducing the amount of acne breakouts I have and the severity of the acne I get. Before this the majority of my breakouts were deep and VERY painful, after just a couple of months, that has changed dramatically, and the amount of breakouts I do get are a lot less. I still break out, but not as much, and I believe it is because of this! The premise of this product and the thing that sets it apart from other face washes is that it is ANTI-BACTERIAL, it kills the bacteria on your skin that causes pimples, rather then just washing off oil and dirt from your face. It also helps to maintain your skins pH balance which is another main cause of acne breakouts. Keep in mind that it is a heavy duty face wash, and you should definitely moisturise after it. It contains 1% Triclosan, and is a slightly thicker then water white consistency. I use this on my face, down my neck, onto my chest and shoulders and down my back. I kind of love this stuff a lot…
Thursday Plantation Medicated Gel for Acne
This caught my eye a while ago but I didn’t pick it up. It’s a Tea Tree oil based topical acne treatment with Melaleuca Oil as its active ingredient. I’m looking forward to using this. The cleanser and now toner that I use are quite heavy duty and full on, so adding something natural in with the mix will be nice. It’s a white gel consistency and feels quite nice so far (I tested it out). I’ve been using Grease Lightening by Lush for a while, it’s going okay so far, but I’m not in love with it, so that’s why I picked up this baby.
That’s all you beautiful people, did you buy anything in the skincare sale? What are your current skincare favourites at the moment?
